I don’t have any experience with ebola–thank God–but I have tangled with skin cancer a few times. The growth in the number of Americans who’ve developed the disease is enough to make you never want to leave the house without a hazmat suit. Overkill? Perhaps.
The old “Gray Lady” goes green. It’s amazing how dramatically attitudes toward same sex marriage and marijuana legalization have changed. Like, head-swiveling fast.

First, both sides are at fault in this conflict. But Israel is the side funded by U.S. dollars and that professes to be trying to avoid civilian casualties. Its bombing of schools and hospitals is horrifying to see and morally repugnant. And, yes, Hamas betrays its own people when it continues rocket attacks that it knows will result in deadly retaliation that will Gaza’s children.
The Russian separatists are beginning to return bodies to the Netherlands, but the treatment of the remains and personal items has been inept and downright disgusting. Once they’re analyzed we’ll see how well the black boxes were treated.
Putin may not have launched the missiles himself, but by putting sophisticated weapons in the hands of separatist thugs he set in motion the series of events that culminated in this tragic loss of life.
Isn’t it a little pathetic that congress can’t muster the will to pay for things we need even when both parties are pretty much in agreement? This road bill uses stopgap budgetary smoke and mirrors, meaning the issue will be back again in 10 months.
Even the GOP is distancing itself from her–Sarah who? But this makes you wonder why right-wing outlets like Fox News continue to put her on the air when she, once again, is proving to be an embarrassment to the party. I guess she still appeals to the all-important nut-bag faction of the base.
Since Obama’s first term he’s gone from optimism that a collective “we” could produce change, to a battle-weary recognition that his political opposition will actually sue him for attempting to do his job. What a long, strange trip it’s been. And what a gray-hair-inducing trip.
Since the smallpox had been sitting around since the 50s, I had toyed with the idea of having Howdy Doody in one of the boxes. Preferably covered in pox, but that would be cruel.
