empathyc Not feelin itIn the Bizarro World that is Washington politics, it’s apparently considered a liability for a judge to have empathy with other people, perps and victims alike.  It seems the Right would prefer a robot umpire, devoid of human frailities like emotion and reason, to call ‘em like the original framers intended.

With the number of people identifying themselves as Republicans dwindling, the GOP seems content to lose moderates, like Arlen Specter.  At this rate, future party meetings most likely will be held in a phone booth.  Or they would be, if we still had phone booths.
