To the battlements!

Monday, February 13th, 2012

stupidCOLOR To the battlements!Maybe it’s because the economy is slowly–painfully slowly–recovering, but can it be that the most pressing issue before the nation is a highly exaggerated “war on religion” and whether people should be using birth control?

Big top hair

trumpCOLOR Big top hairThe Donald is one of those figures in public life that I feel conflicted about.  On the one hand, he’s a total buffoon, a reality-show-host-birth certificate-denying-egomaniacal-doofus.  On the other hand, he’s so outrageous that he’s an amusing distraction.

And….?

threeCOLOR And....?Rick Perry’s brain freeze aside, coming up short with workable, legitimate ideas to give the economy at least a small short-term jolt doesn’t seem to be the GOP’s forte.

GOP 2012 candidates need no halloween costumesIt saves a lot of money and time not having to buy or make costumes for trick-or-treat.  If America wants a frightening experience this Halloween, all it needs to do is take a look at the 2012 GOP field.  Nothing sends a chill down one’s spine more than imagining President Cain  with his finger on the button.  Ahwoooooooo!!!

Credit crunch

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Iraq pullout criticizedThe GOP has steadfastly refused to give Obama credit for much of anything positive.  Now, they’re unloading on him for keeping a campaign promise to withdraw troops from Iraq, a move that most Americans support.  The ironic twist is that this disastrous timetable is one that was drawn up by George W. Bush.  Credit that.

Death becomes them

Friday, September 16th, 2011

GOP is the party of deathWith the cheering for death in various forms during the recent Republican debates, it was reminiscent of the Romans vs. Christians vs. lions thing.  Two thumbs up— or is it thumbs down?

But not for you

GOP inconsistent on tax increasesThe Republicans have apparently met a tax cut that they don’t like.  It seems that letting the payroll tax cut expire is OK, since it only  benefits the poor and middle class.  It says a lot about how the real constituency of the modern GOP is.
